Medical Marijuana
Do I need a medical card to purchase products?
Any adult 21+ can shop at our dispensary with a valid Government ID.
However, medical patients (as young as 18 years of age) should bring their original, signed medical recommendation and MMIC card (if available) so we can upload it into our system along with their California ID.
Check out our Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) page for more information about benefits, and how to get one.
Why do I need to show my ID and MMIC card every time?
Kush Alley is a licensed medical and recreational cannabis dispensary, which means we must comply with all state and local laws that require us to verify the age and eligibility of every customer and patient on every visit to our dispensary.
California law requires verifying that anyone who enters the dispensary is a legal MMIC or MMJ patient or of legal age to purchase recreational cannabis. As a result, we ask for ID from everyone who enters our dispensary.
What do I need to bring with me as a first-time visitor?
Adult-use recreational consumers coming to Kush Alley for the first time must provide a valid photo ID from any state or a valid passport that shows they are of legal age to obtain recreational cannabis.
When you come to see us for the first time as a medical patient, we need to see your California ID (or your current photo ID and proof of CA residency) and your original medical marijuana recommendation with your doctor’s signature. If you have an MMIC or MMJ, please bring that with you as well. Your first check-in should only take a few minutes.
How old do I have to be to enter the Kush Alley Dispensary?
Everyone who enters our dispensary must be of legal age to purchase medical marijuana (18+) or recreational cannabis (21+). No minors may enter the dispensary, even if accompanied by a person of legal age.
How do I apply for a Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC)?
Check out our Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) page for more information about benefits, and how to get one.

- Primary Caregiver Declaration

Products
What is a dispensary?
A cannabis dispensary is a licensed store where people can legally buy marijuana, cannabis-based products, and related accessories. Depending on local laws, dispensaries may offer cannabis for medical use, recreational use, or both. These stores typically provide a variety of cannabis-based products (see next question). Knowledgeable staff are available to help customers choose the right products based on their needs and preferences.
What types of products do dispensaries sell?
Dispensaries sell a variety of cannabis products, including cannabis flower, pre-rolls, edibles, drinks, concentrates, tinctures, topicals, and more. The specific products available can vary depending on the dispensary. The quality of products sold also varies by dispensary.
Kush Alley proudly offers the highest quality cannabis products available in Southern California.
How do I know which products to choose?
Our knowledgeable budtenders are highly trained and experienced at listening to Kush Alley customers’ needs and wants. Stop by and spend time with one of our staff. We’ll help you find the perfect cannabis product.
Is it safe to purchase products from a dispensary?
Buying from a dispensary is the safest way to purchase cannabis products. Dispensaries are required to follow strict state regulations to ensure the safety and quality of their products. They must test their products for purity, potency, and contaminants to ensure they are safe for consumption.
Are the products you sell lab-tested?
All products on the Kush Alley Dispensary shelves have gone through rigorous testing at a certified lab according to the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) testing standards. Products are tested for potency, pesticides, heavy metals, molds, mycotoxins, and more. After the products are tested, they are packaged, labeled, and transported to our retail facility with a manifest confirming they are tested and safe for consumption.
How should I store my cannabis products to maintain their quality?
Cannabis products generally have expiration dates for consumer protection. However, improper storage can negatively impact potency, aroma, and other characteristics. Here are some recommendations for getting the most from your cannabis purchases.
| Product Form | Recommended Storage Practices | Approximate Shelf Life |
|---|---|---|
| Flower | – Store in an airtight container (e.g., glass jars) to prevent exposure to air. – Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. – Maintain a stable temperature (ideally between 60-70°F). – Avoid excessive humidity to prevent mold growth (ideal humidity is around 59-63%). | 6 months to 1 year Best quality within the first 6 months. |
| Vapes | – Keep vape cartridges upright to prevent leakage. – Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. – Avoid extreme temperatures (do not freeze or expose to high heat). – Use the original packaging or a protective case. | 1-2 years Optimal performance within the first year. |
| Tinctures | – Store in a dark glass dropper bottle to protect from light. – Keep in a cool, dark place such as a cupboard or refrigerator. – Ensure the bottle is tightly sealed to prevent evaporation and contamination. | 2 years It can last longer if stored properly. |
| THC Oils | – Use dark-colored glass containers to minimize light exposure. – Store in a cool, dark place away from heat sources. – Keep containers tightly sealed. – Avoid direct contact with air to prevent oxidation. | 1-2 years Maintain potency and flavor within this timeframe. |
| Edibles | – Keep in airtight containers to maintain freshness. – Store in a cool, dark place; refrigeration can extend shelf life. – Clearly label with contents and expiration date. – Keep out of reach of children and pets. | 6 months to 1 year Depends on the ingredients and preservatives used. |
Additional Tips:
- Avoid Freezing: While refrigeration is generally acceptable for some products like edibles, freezing cannabis flower can make it brittle and degrade the trichomes, affecting potency and flavor.
- Light Protection: UV light can degrade cannabinoids and terpenes. Always use opaque or dark-colored containers to protect your products.
- Temperature Stability: Fluctuating temperatures can cause condensation inside containers, leading to mold growth or degradation of the product.
- Proper Labeling: Always label your storage containers with the product type, purchase date, and expiration date to keep track of freshness and potency.
